Around one year ago, our co-founder Alan sat down for a pint with sour beer heroes Vault City. Conversation moved from beer to cocktails and, more specifically, to the god tier cocktail that is the Whisky Sour. The concept for the “cold toddy” was born.
Together with Islay’s masterful distillers, Bruichladdich, the three of us created an 11% ABV wild honey and lemon balm infused sour beer, barrel-aged in Bruichladdich single malt barrels for nine months. We wanted this to be the most impactful beer ever brewed for a good cause. Each bottle promises to unlock 1000x its volume in clean water projects globally. That’s thousands upon thousands of litres unlocked since it launched in November.
For the last week, the first few bottles have been up for auction through the Whisky Auctioneer, to raise money to fund clean water projects. Today, we are thrilled to announce that they have been sold to the highest bidder for an incredible £950!
Donated entirely to our charity partner, charity: water, this will positively impact hundreds of lives across the world.
We want to say a huge thank you to Bruichladdich, Vault City and Whisky Auctioneer for coming together to make this happen. If you haven't had a chance to try it yet, you can pick up a bottle here.
