THE B CORP MOVEMENT: CELEBRATING B CORP MONTH

THE B CORP MOVEMENT: CELEBRATING B CORP MONTH

We’ve been celebrating B Corp Month and wanted to share some updates since becoming Certified back in August last year. The B Corp movement is championing a new way to do business that balances purpose and profit. We want to shout about how we’ve joined a network of awesome brands that (like us) are using business as a force for good.

Our London team has been attending B Social Events each month that has provided an opportunity to meet other B Corps & see which brands are leading the way when considering the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community and the environment. From learning about sustainable fashion and ethical supply chains with JoJo Maman Bébé; to visiting Danone’s HQ & hearing their B Corp journey – it’s been useful to learn how global businesses are helping to shape change.

We’re delighted to announce that several B Corps have joined our Office Beer Club (OBC), whereby they receive monthly updates on which projects the OBC has helped to fund. Fellow Certified members include Innocent drinks, Beryl, Simply Business, Bates Wells Braithwaite, KeepCup and Divine Chocolate. Their monthly and weekly beer deliveries have funded well repairs in Southern Blantyre, Malawi.

When you buy from a B Corp it’s a small step towards a better world for all. Check out some of the small changes you can make in your day-to-day routine using the B Corp Bingo card. Check out if your favourite brands are B Corps by using the Directory link here

What’s Happening in Scotland & the B Corp Movement?

Since our HQ is based in Glasgow, we thought it’s worth mentioning how we’re involved with the movement up north too. Since attending Scotland CAN B’s first workshop in June (which kick-started our certification process) – we’ve been introduced to other like-minded businesses. We’ve been working with Scotland CAN B, which uses the B Corp Assessment tool to measure, benchmark and improve the impact of businesses, charities and start-ups.

Collaboration is at the heart of the Scotland CAN B programme. We thrive as a result of our partnerships with professionals within the values-based ecosystem who lend their time and expertise to help us achieve our three objectives: to strengthen the values-based ecosystem, to widen awareness around the benefits of purposeful business, and to promote Scotland’s role in driving the global movement of business as a force for good.

Lastly, we're hosting a B Corp event in London, March 26th, to showcase how four companies are championing a new way to do business that balances purpose and profit. These businesses will be talking about how their daily workings closely relate to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We'll also be touching on best practice initiatives in relation to different goals, with a focus on water, energy and sustainable consumption.

Be sure to join us and B the Change!
